Installing OS Elementary Features on another distro

If you would like to have the “plank” version of Docky on your DIstro, here are some ideas on how you can go about it:

http://wiki.go-docky.com/index.php?title=Plank:Installing#Packages

To build Plank, you will need to install the following packages:

automake
gnome-common
intltool (>= 0.35)
libtool
pkg-config
valac (>= 0.14.1)
libbamf3-dev (>= 0.2.94)
libdbusmenu-gtk3-dev (>= 0.6.2) (optional)
libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev (>= 2.26.0)
libgee-dev (>= 0.5.2)
libglib2.0-dev (>= 2.32.0)
libgtk-3-dev (>= 3.0.0)
libwnck-3-dev
libx11-dev

Use the Synaptic Package manager to find out if you have these.

There are some ideas for porting Elementary OS features to other distros here:

If you succeed in building “plank” then you can try building “gala” by the same method.
